Consultations

  • Patients with urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly.

  • Other patients will be required to make a prior appointment to see a doctor and will be given precedence over those without an appointment.

  • 15 minutes is the average time for a consultation, and appointments are made to reflect this. If a longer consultation is anticipated please advise the receptionist when making your appointment.

Home Visits

Home visits can be arranged, but are reserved strictly for those who are unable to attend the surgery. Home visits are usually made at the end of the day's surgery hours.

After Hours Emergencies

Port Village Medical Centre provides an 'after hours' service for cases necessitating urgent medical attention. Patients should telephone the surgery where they will be provided with contact details for the doctor 'on call'.

Diving Medicine

Our Qualified Diving Medical Examiners perform pre-dive medicals, and manage diving related problems.

Fees

  • Please pay at the time of consultation cash, Bankcard, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS

  • Local Pensioners, local Health Care card holders and local children are bulk billed.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat. prescriptions may be issued subject to the approval of a doctor at a cost of $5.00.

The doctor has a legal duty of care and may require the patient to attend for a consultation in order to check efficacy and exclude possible side effects.

Telephone Calls to Doctors

You can contact your Doctor by ringing during surgery hours. Emergency calls will always be put straight through.
